Techniques for Building Respect, Control, and Patience

The family and trail horse is at the heart of American horsemanship. These horses represent valued companions, provide recreation, and add to our enjoyment. But, so many times joy can turn into unpleasantness — or even injury — when our horses don’t respect us, become inpatient or get out of control. This video is designed to get you off to a “Quick Start” in gaining respect and control with your horse as well as developing patience in both your horse and yourself. Groundwork and under saddle techniques covered include disengaging your horse’s hindquarters for safety; stopping with your one-rein emergency brake; circling for control and more.
